Very nice excerpt from D...Studying is about right.

Very nice excerpt from Don Juan, and a very appropriate comparison, I thought. He's chartering the heavens, so to say. His imposing muscularity is reminiscent of Adam as depicted by Michaelangelo in his frescoe from the Sistine Chapel:

http://t3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTvhF0ifJWTYyx-HYOYlCi-V23DEk_z7EKGK8NquQcHVtZLoXI&t=1&usg=__-0xbWg_s2ozYmDmoMqqRRwx9zH4=

After all, Newton had one thing in common with Newton--an apple. This was noted by no less than Byron in his long poem Don Juan:

When Newton saw an apple fall, he found
In that slight startle from his contemplation—
'Tis said (for I'll not answer above ground
For any sage's creed or calculation)—
A mode of proving that the earth turn'd round
In a most natural whirl, called 'gravitation';
And this is the sole mortal who could grapple,
Since Adam, with a fall, or with an apple.

I thought this engraving by Blake a fitting description of Professor Hawking, depicting him as the titan that he is in his domain, rather than the cripple many think of him as.

We await your next literary output.S.
